Water confidence program: Your Journey to Comfort

With our combined approach, you’ll gradually build confidence and reduce your fear of water in a supportive and structured environment. Whether you're looking to swim more comfortably or simply feel at ease around water, our program is designed to meet your individual needs and goals.

How It Works

Customised CBT Sessions: We use CBT techniques to help you identify and challenge the negative thoughts and beliefs associated with water. Through gradual exposure and cognitive restructuring, we work to reduce your anxiety and build your confidence around water.

Hypnotherapy for Deep Change: Hypnotherapy complements CBT by addressing the subconscious triggers of your fear. We use guided imagery and relaxation techniques to help you visualize and experience positive interactions with water, reinforcing new, calming responses.

Practical Swimming Lessons: As a qualified swimming instructor, I offer practical lessons that integrate therapeutic techniques with safe, controlled water exposure. These lessons help bridge the gap between theory and practice, making the transition to comfort in water smoother and more effective.

Session Structure

Sessions 1-3 (1 hour each):  Conducted in our office location, these initial sessions concentrate on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and hypnotherapy to help you tackle the psychological aspects of your water phobia. We work on identifying and reframing negative thoughts and beliefs about water while using hypnotherapy to reinforce positive imagery and relaxation techniques. This foundational work sets the stage for building confidence and reducing anxiety.

Sessions 4-6 (30 minutes Each): These final sessions are held in a private pool, where you and me will be the only ones around. In these practical sessions, we move to the swimming pool to apply what you’ve learned in a real-world setting. We focus on basic skills such as floating, gradual water immersion, and breathing exercises. The aim is to build comfort and familiarity with the water, rather than on swimming techniques. This hands-on approach helps you gain confidence and practical experience in a supportive environment.
